Intermediate Junior Skis
Does your child master the snowplough, start keeping their skis parallel, and want to follow you onto more varied slopes? Our Intermediate Junior ski range is designed for young skiers who are gaining confidence. More progressive and grippy, these skis allow them to refine their technique, build a little more speed, and have fun across the entire ski area in total safety.
In summary
The Red Junior range is aimed at intermediate children and teenagers who already ski down blue runs with ease. More stable and dynamic than beginner skis, these models make turn initiation easier and offer better edge grip on harder snow. Book intermediate junior skis online with Sport 2000 to provide your child with progressive equipment that will support their development all week long.
What am I renting, exactly?
When you book, you select a ski category rather than a specific model. When handing over your skis, our ski technicians select the most suitable skis for your child's physique and comfort.
Keep up with the family effortlessly on Red Skis
This is the rewarding moment when your child starts following you across the slopes and gains real independence. But for this transition to happen without frustration, they need slightly more technical skis capable of meeting their new ambitions. No more skis that feel "washy" as soon as speed picks up: our Red Junior range delivers the stability needed for them to attempt their first parallel turns with confidence. For you, it means enjoying genuine family skiing moments, watching them improve by leaps and bounds without getting tired or scared.
How do you know if your child is ready for the intermediate range? If the ski instructor is preparing them for basic beginner badges, stay on the Blue range. However, if they are preparing for intermediate levels (such as 1st Star or 2nd Star equivalent), the Red range is essential. It will give them the responsiveness and precision needed to pass their technical tests. In store, our teams will adjust the ski length (usually around nose/eye height) to maintain a perfect balance between manoeuvrability and stability.
Explore the entire ski area as a family
With intermediate skis underfoot, your child's playground expands significantly. They are no longer restricted to the beginners' area at the bottom of the resort. This range is specifically designed to build the confidence needed to venture onto longer blue runs, or even their first red runs, right alongside you. The equipment handles terrain bumps and changing snow conditions better (groomed snow in the morning, heavier snow late in the afternoon), allowing them to keep up with you all day while exploring the resort.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about junior intermediate skis
-
How do I know if my child should choose the Red Junior (Intermediate) or Blue Junior (Beginner) range?
If your child is starting to keep their skis parallel, skis down blue slopes with confidence, and is preparing for intermediate ski badges, choose the Red range. If your child is still learning to stop using the snowplough, the Blue range is preferred.
-
What size ski will be selected for my child in store?
For intermediate skis, our technicians usually choose a length that reaches between the child's nose and eyes. This size provides a great balance between the stability needed for speed and ease of turning.

Are ski boots and a helmet included in the rental for this category?
When hiring a full package, skis and boots are included. A helmet is offered as an option during online booking. At this stage where children pick up more speed, wearing a helmet is strongly recommended.
