Sport 2000 is a cooperative group founded in 1966 by three big names in French football: Pierre Batteux, Just Fontaine, and Jean Djorkaeff. Originally offering a wide range of multi-sport equipment, the group has grown and diversified over the years:
1982: Creation of the mountain network, opening its first ski shop in a resort to hire and buy equipment.
2003: Creation of the S2 brand, specialising in footwear.
2006: Creation of the Mondovélo brand, specialising in cycling.
2009: Creation of the Espace Montagne brand, specialising in outdoor sports.
