Vars (2h45 by car)
Located just 2h45 from Aix (about 220 kilometers), Vars is open to skiers and surfers from the end of November until the first day of May.
Do you know the most extensive ski area in the Southern Alps? It is the Forêt Blanche ski area which brings together Risoul and Vars, culminating at 2750 meters above sea level.
Vars is particularly sought after by snow enthusiasts, who find an immense playground there with its 7 snowparks and its boardercross. A ski resort near Aix, it positions itself as a prime destination for a weekend or a week combining sport and festivities. The resort offers packages like Gliss & Mix (accommodation and 3-day/3-night ski pass, plus free concert access).
In addition to snowboarding, Vars is also an opportunity to practice unusual activities : ice cave, jump, big air or more classically sledging areas, hiking and cross-country skiing.
The resort also has a complete offer for après-ski : baths, spas, restaurants, bars...

Nestled in the Guil valley, with a panoramic view of Mont Pelvoux and the Ecrins massif, the Risoul resort is one of the benchmark resorts in the Southern Alps.
A true mountain village, Risoul welcomes you to its chalets, its wood and stone residences, its hotels, holiday villages or tourist residences…
But make no mistake, Risoul is first and foremost a sport-oriented resort: the resort thus created the first snowpark in France : fun zone, trampolines, big airs, gap, slide rails, follow one another not far from the site of the former surfland which now hosts a Half-pipe among the longest in the country.
Beginners are not left out, as you can introduce your children to skiing and snowboarding in a 100% secure and fun area: access is free and easily accessible.

We understand why, as this family resort has managed to preserve its traditional architecture with wooden chalets and stone houses. Val d'Allos is also an ideal gateway to discover the Mercantour National Park, which offers incredible and unspoiled nature.
As for skiing, Val d'Allos is perfectly suited for family holidays: the ski area includes 65 slopes served by 27 ski lifts, as well as secured freeride (off-piste) and beginner areas.
