Ski boot: a vital accessory to ski safely and comfortably
When you choose your ski equipment, you mostly pay attention to the features of the ski (size, tip, heel, colours), but you sometimes forget the significance of the ski boot. Yet, the boot is what helps you deliver your support towards the skis and keeps you warm on ski slopes.
Several criterias should be considered to be sure that you will have comfy ski boots, that will fit your ski level:
- The Flex, which is equivalent to the ability of the front of the boot to bend. This index must be choosen according to your ski level and the kind of winter sport. We advise to select a Flex inferior to 70 if you are a beginner, a Flex between 70 et 90 if you already know how to take bends and stop easily, whereas Flex up to 100 are for expert skiers. Likewise, the grounds on which you are going to ski (snowparks, powder snow...) determine the right Flex index of your ski boot.
- The size, given in Mondopoint, may slighlty vary from one brand to another, and the designs are more or less narrow (the width of the shell is generally between 100 and 104 mm). Always try on the shoes before choosing them, to be sure that you will feel comfortable and that you wil ski safely.
- The comfort of the inner shoe, depending on the materials used to make it and the harmony between its shape and the shape of your foot. Think about ski boots that will fit closely your foot thanks to thermoforming, in order that you gain precision and that you feel well all day long on Avoriaz ski slopes.

In Avoriaz, the 360 Skishop offers a wide range of ski boots for sale, but also for lease. Two main categories are available:
- The Red ski boots, rather recommanded for novices since they are quite flexible and light.
- The Black boots, stiffer, to aim better performances thanks to precision and reactivity.
If you already have your own pair of skis, you can rent only the boots in our ski shop. But they are also included in Alpine skis packs as well as in ski packs for freestyle and freeride skiing, with some designs we have especially selected for these disciplines.
