Avoriaz is famous for its amazing skiing area, the festive atmosphere and lots of outdoor and indoor activites. But people also like the resort because it can welcome families thanks to appropriate facilities, activites for kids and car-free areas. This is why it is the perfect place to spend Christmas holidays as a family!
Several shows and activities to celebrate Christmas
During school holidays, yound and old will have the opportunity to attend pretty shows that will spread Christmas spirit in the resort:
- A free show about Christmas will take place on 24th December, gathering circus arts and a sound and light.
- The "sledges of Avoriaz" will stride along the resort and will blow you away with their beautiful lights and ornaments.
- There will be the traditional descent with torches, performed by the skiing instructors of Avoriaz.
In addition to these shows, several activites have been thought to delight the youngest ones. They will have the chance to attend cooking workshops, where they will make (and savour!) sweets, pastries and cakes. For the most adventurous kids, there will be introductions to snowbile on track and they will receive a pilot's certificate as a souvenir of this unique moment. And if your kids do prefer skiing or snowboarding, it is time to rent equipment that is especially designed for little ones, kids and teenagers at Crozats Sports!
Enjoy family activities during Christmas holidays and throughout the year
In Avoriaz, there are numerous opportunities to spend time with family (or with some friends)! Children as well as their parents will undoubtedly keep wonderful memories of their stay, by skiing down the slopes but also by sharing moments outside the tracks:
- Spend some time with sled dogs: try this activity for the first time, learn how to drive them or enjoy amazing landscapes, surrounded by nature for a few hours.
- Have a ride in a horse-drawn carriage: kids will be over the moon and adults will learn more about the village and the resort of Avoriaz.
- Ice-skating is another unmissable activity when it comes to winter sports and Christmas holidays: come and skate in a couple, with family or friends on Avoriaz's outdoor skating rink! There are even Skate Dance evenings organised for teenagers.
- Have a walk in the "Village Igloo" to discover snow and ice sculptures, have something to eat and have a drink in an unusual place.
- Have a fun and friendly moment on Sensas Park, where Laser Game and Archery Tag games take place throughout the year. Strategy, precision and rapidity are the key words on this area where kids from 8 and adults can spend time together in a joyous and relaxed atmosphere.
