Each time you descend you have can have the incredible feeling of vastness, the mountains are huge, this is the real high alpine. After only 20 minutes of ascent by cable car, you leave the summit of the Aiguille du Midi.

Skiing from the top you drop almost 3,000 vertical metres before reaching the centre of Chamonix. It is one of Europe's largest glacial ski routes (22 kilometres) and is often skiable, for those with experience or with a mountain guide, depending on conditions, until the end of May.

If winter sports are the flagship activity of the Chamonix Mont Blanc Valley, there are of cause a whole array of activities on offer that visitors can enjoy alone, with friends or with their families.
