A look back at the ski tests during the main professional event in Meribel

ski test in meribel 2020

As we do each year, the team of Eskiador went to ski down the slopes in Meribel, during the event dedicated to ski equipement test, for winter sports professionnals. Last week, we tried the latest in skis, in order to offer you the best gear for the next season, available for hire and for sale. Here is a summary of what Alexandra, a great skier from our staff, thinks about some of male and female designs!

Salomon S/Max: a good ski, despite being limited

Our test confirms the qualities of this design made by Salomon, even if we recommend that you use it mostly on a quality snow. Very light, it's easy to ski, but is also provides a lower performance on icy snow.

The new Slight by Scott : flexible and light

With a 83 mm waist-width, this ski is quite easy to handle and precise. Some good skiers might regret the lack of stiffness, but that will please those who are looking for more tolerance.

Kastle MX75, the favourite one of the team

The Austrian brand gathers all the qualities we can expect for a top-of-the-range ski with the MX-75. Both stiff and light, it's stable and it has a great grip on all kinds of slopes and snow. It's the perfect ski to do a series of turns and take nice bends.

The 2020 version of Cloud by Atomic, for a novice or intermediate level

This female ski is especially aimed at skiers who already know the rudiments of skiing and who are looking for a tolerant ski to get better. Indeed, all the technologies used to make this design are thought to make it easy to turn smoothly and erase the lumps of the ground.

Insomnia Elite by Elan, for great skiers

With a right and a left ski, the Insomnia has been redesigned to offer a better support on the slopes, while making it lighter. Indeed, the inside parts have been lightened, while the external one have been reinforced. If you are a good skier, you will enjoy this ski for women

Power for women: one of the best among the Joy range by Head

Not really enthusiast af far as female skis are concerned, Alexandra has found a gem with this new Power version. Neither too light, nor too heavy, they are easy to carry on your shoulder, but the weight also allows them to keep a great grip on fresh snow, frequented slopes and icy parts.
